All About Hayden Jean

Hayden has been keeping us busy lately.  She has been walking around while holding onto the furniture, her shopping cart or anything she can get her hands on to for a few weeks now.  Also, she has been standing all by herself and continues to show us that she will be walking soon.  She took a couple steps in front of daddy and Grandma Brown last weekend so we know it's coming very soon!

She said her first word "mama" and continues to say it constantly.  I was excited (as with much practicing with her) that her first work was "mama" as Lyla said "dada" first!  She lately has been saying "dada" and "gaga" along with a lot of other "talking" which is fun to hear.

She loves going for walks in her stroller too.  She just laughs the whole time as she watches Ella and Lyla.  She seems like she is an outdoor girl just like Lyla too.  Whenever we have the front door open, she just stands there and looks outside.

We also had fun with Hayden catching the chickenpox a couple weeks ago!  On Friday May 18th, I noticed a few bumps on her head.  I ended up going out of town for a girls weekend that night and she woke up Saturday morning with bumps all over.  Matt took her to urgent care and ended up in the emergency room since she had a fever and was contagious.  She was pretty crabby all weekend for Matt but started to feel better on Sunday night.  Luckily, my mom came to watch her for 3 days so I didn't have to miss a whole week of work because Matt was out of town as well.  She was a lifesaver!  I took pictures of her everyday to see how she progressed.  She actually hardly scratched which was wonderful!  She still has a few bumps on her head but they are disappearing everyday.  We still have no idea how she caught this virus but I'm just glad that Lyla has not!  I have included a few pictures below on how she progressed through the week.

When daddy came home on Friday, Hayden just wanted to cuddle with daddy.  Then 5 minutes later she just started bawling!  Maybe she was just upset with daddy leaving her for a week!

Love my stroller!

Hayden also just figured out how to climb over the gate today!  She is a little monkey like Lyla!  Now we will have to think of something else to block her from the stairs!

That's it from the Brown's for now!

Hayden is 9 months old!

Hayden turned 9 months old last week!  She continues to be a busy little girl crawling and pulling herself on everything, exploring the house and getting into things she shouldn't.  I feel it's been so long since I had to close the bathroom door, block the stairs, lock the cabinet doors, block Ella's food and such from Lyla and now we are back to that stage all over again with Hayden. At least we have a little helper that will let me know where Hayden is at all times!

Hayden's 9 month appointment went well on Friday.  She weighs 17 lbs 8 oz and is between 25-50%.  I completely forgot to write down her length so I will have to get back to on that but I know she was between 25-50% for length as well.  She is a healthy little girl!

Matt was gone last week turkey hunting a few hours away.  He was packing last weekend and Lyla was really interested in what he had. She had to dress up just like daddy!  Do you think we have a little hunter on our hands?

Where's Lyla??

Happy Easter 2012!

It's been a week of sick Brown's! We think Lyla caught what Hayden had a week ago by having a high fever and not feeling well. Now it looks like we are on the mend and I hope it stays that way!

Easter:
Matt and I had a great time being the Easter Bunny this year by hiding Easter Eggs and toys around the basement. Lyla loved trying to find all the eggs and other presents and was great at sharing her eggs with Hayden as well. Lyla and Hayden were also spoiled by their great aunts and grandma with getting even more Easter presents!

Pictures of Haydee

I couldn't forget some updated pictures of Haydee over the last couple of weeks.

Our Sleeping girl
It's funny to see the differences between the girls on even little everyday things. When Lyla figured out how to roll over, she was a tummy sleeper but Hayden is a side sleeper.

Hayden's first lawn mower ride!
Daddy and his girls...how is he going to drive the mower if both girls want to ride??

After Hayden started to crawl, 1 week later she learned how to pull herself up. The first thing she learned on was the dishwasher...now it's everything! She even tries to crawl up the stairs!

Standing up and playing with my toy!

Not only does Lyla like her new tent and tunnel, Hayden does too! These girls are a riot watching them go through the tunnel and giggling away.

Happy 3rd Birthday Lyla Marie!

Lyla just turned 3 last weekend! She has developed so much since she was 2 and she continues to amaze us on the things she can do. I was just looking at her pictures from her 2nd birthday party and can't believe how much she has changed! How can my little baby girl be getting so big? Lyla is such a sweetheart and we just love how she tries to be a tomboy but still likes to wear dresses and skirts and play with babies. She may love her Packers, Badgers and Brewers but she does love her girly things too!

Since I was in Nashville on her birthday, Matt took Lyla to an arcade and amusement park to enjoy her day. Here she is jamming with her guitar.

Since she was a little over 2, she has been asking for a fishing pole and to go fishing with daddy. We told her she was too little last summer but could get it for her 3rd birthday. This girl does not forget either! At first she wanted a Mickey Mouse fishing pole, and then it changed to Cars and lastly Buzz Lightyear. Daddy even picked up a little pink tackle box for her!

Lyla's Birthday Party
Lyla had a great time at her birthday party this weekend. She loved all of her presents and we had great guests as well. Thank you to everyone who could make it!

Here is the sweet little birthday girl

Even Hayden had a playmate come: Hailee Kratz

All Lyla could talk about was Auntie Kristi coming to her birthday party. She had a great time playing with her this weekend too!

Auntie Kristi got Lyla a tent and tunnel and she just loves it! Of course if you buy it for her, you have to play in it too!

Crawling all around

Hayden has been showing a lot of signs of crawling the last few weeks. I thought she was going to start crawling when we were in Mexico to just prove a point but she luckily didn't. She would go from a sitting position to her belly, move her arms to crawl but her legs wouldn't follow. Then she would get frustrated and roll over or go back to a sitting position. I have been working with her on moving her legs behind her and this morning she proved that she was ready to go! She hasn't taken off yet but I think once she gets the hang of it, she will be everywhere before I know it! Now life in the Brown household will be crazy!

What am I going to get into now?
I just learned how to crawl so get out of my way!

Here I come!

I found out a couple weeks ago that I will be gone on Lyla's birthday this year. I have my yearly national sales meeting in Tennessee and now they moved it to the end of March instead of the beginning. Luckily I was able to get home a day earlier so even though Lyla will be in bed, I will be able to celebrate the whole day with her on Sunday. Now her birthday party will be moved to March 31st so she can have a whole week to celebrate!

With the weather getting nicer, I'm starting to get Spring fever! Organizing, getting miscellaneous things put away and planning on what I want to change with the house is just a few starters. I'm itching to get our kitchen, living room and hallway painted so I can get the wallpaper out of my house! I also want a new kitchen table, find new decorations and potentially new counter tops?? Matt doesn't know what I have all up my sleeve but maybe he will go along with it! He gets to plan his new garage out back so I get something out of it too right? Let's hope for the best!

Have a great weekend!

We survived being away...

Matt and I survived being away from the girls for 5 days and 4 nights while we suffered in Cancun last week. I was able to hit my numbers again last year for work and we got another incentive trip out of it. It was definitely a trying year to hit after being off for 3 months so this is by far was my proudest year. It was great being able to relax, sit on the beach and sleep in! We definitely missed the girls but it was nice to have a mini vacation on our own. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Brown who watched and took care of the girls for us!

Right after I wrote my last post discussing what Hayden has been up to, she has changed once again. She now sits on her own with no issues, has started to rock back and forth on her hands and knees along with rolling over like crazy. I guess whenever I post something she will show me what she's ready for!

Love my highchair!

Sitting up on my own

Play time in Hayden's crib!

Whenever I leave the room to do something for a minute and if I ask Lyla to keep Hayden company, I always come back to Lyla in Hayden's crib! Lyla loves to help out and take care of Hayden which is still wonderful.

Let's now hope for some uninterrupted sleep this week. We came home to both girls waking us up in the middle of the night, both well spaced out and Matt and I feeling like we have hardly slept! Lyla is now wearing big girl undies at night with no accidents but has decided to wake up in the middle of the night to go potty. We just don't want this to become routine for both girls!

Have a great week!
